Services
At Neuro-Efficiency Foundation, the services and the NEFF Wellness Center are available and accessible to members only. However, the membership fee is a mere $80/year because NEFF stands by the law of reciprocity, which is similar to the concept of ‘paying it forward’. Those who can, will pay for the services, and those who may need a little extra financial aid, will also benefit! This makes our services affordable for everyone.
Our services are divided into four categories and follow the symbolism of a chair (or wheelchair). A chair has 4 legs on which to stand on for a solid foundation of stability and strength; most wheelchairs have four anchoring points to make it safe, steady, and grounded. All four service categories are reliant on one another, and each leg represents a service, that we deem necessary, to make your spinal cord injury or SCI injury rehabilitation journey successful.

LEG ONE: Physical Services
At NEFF Wellness Center, we offer physiotherapy, strength and conditioning as well as boxing sessions. These services are led by healthcare professionals who are knowledgeable about neurological conditions, such as spinal cord injury, stroke, traumatic brain injury, Parkinsons, and others. Our team of physiotherapists and specialized trainers are looking forward to working towards and achieving your goals alongside you. The team is experienced in adapting its approach depending on your physical abilities.
LEG TWO: Mental Health Services
NEFF strongly supports the mental health movement and recognizes the importance of mental health throughout the spinal injury rehabilitation journey. This is why we host weekly leader-lead group discussions (in both English and French) at the NEFF Wellness Center for like-minded individuals. These group discussions cover topics like ‘living day-to-day with a spinal cord injury’, ‘how to overcome negative self-talk after experiencing a cervical spine injury’ and many more. Our psychologists are trained and experienced in the field of neurological injuries and will know how to accompany you through the ins-and-outs that you may be exposed to.
The Neuro-Efficiency Foundation is currently working on providing support and services for the families of individuals who have a spinal cord injury (SCI injury) or any other neurological injury.
LEG THREE: Technical Services
NEFF is proud to provide technical services such as minor repairs of wheelchairs and minor home renovations or modifications at our members residences (ex: handrails or door sill installations etc.). We also offer technical support to our members for larger residential projects like wheelchair lift and ramp installations, because we have both personal and professional knowledge and experience.
LEG FOUR: Advocacy Services
Finally, The Neuro-Efficiency Foundation also advocates for every individual with a spinal cord injury or SCI injury, a cervical spine injury, a quadriplegic injury, tetraplegia paralysis or any other neurological injury. Not only do we lobby for legal action from our provincial and federal governments, but we also seek to influence and appeal to the general public. Unfortunately, awareness and education are still lacking when it comes to neurological injuries and how the individuals affected by them experience their day-to-day. We are working tirelessly and diligently to sensitize as many people as possible and are clinging to the hope that, someday soon, the collective society and culture will become aware that 25% of our population is currently experiencing some form of reduced mobility, and conceivably, the daily lives of so many will be improved.
