Eric’s Story
My name is Eric Boyer, a proud father of three, an almost perfect husband, a fabulous son, and a loyal friend to many.
On January 3rd, 2019, my life, which had been relatively ordinary until then, was entirely turned upside down by a serious alpine skiing accident. The impact broke my back, punctured my lungs, damaged my aorta, and left me in a coma for over a week…
I survived, but my new reality was vastly different.
– However, I was alive!
Today, I am paralyzed T7/8 with an incomplete spinal cord injury.
Over the past two years, I have regained several functions as well as much of my mobility-related sensations. I have even started walking again with the help of my therapists and mobility devices. These improvements became possible shortly after I made the conscious decision to do everything in my power to achieve them. As my late step-father used to say when I was a child: “It’s up to you to choose what comes next.” This phrase, much more than a nostalgic memory, is now the foundation’s motto.
– If it’s gonna to be, it’s up to me!
I am deeply grateful for the love and support I have received throughout my rehabilitation journey, a support that continues to this day. However, I have become more aware than ever of the lack of accessibility and disparities that exist in the healthcare system and in society after a neurological injury. I am determined to continue doing everything I can to help address and alleviate these challenges through the Neuro-Efficiency Foundation and the N-EFF Centers.
Thank you for all your support,
With love from Eric, his family, and friends

Why do we use it?
It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy. Various versions have evolved over the years, sometimes by accident, sometimes on purpose (injected humour and the like).
